為個人製造實踐提供最新資訊及交流平台的網站「fabcross」以518名在職技術人員為對象，實施了一個與最新機器人技術相關的調查。調查顯示，對於「您認為目前機器人實用化進展最快的領域」，回答「製造及搬運領域」的佔68.5%，位居首位（圖1）。對於「預測今後將有越來越多的機器人替代人類的領域」，回答「醫療及看護領域」的達到71.4%，位居首位。

對於「機器人技術先進的國家是哪個」這一問題，有64.1%的被調查者回答「日本」，遠遠高於其他回答，居第2位的是「美國」（30.1%），居第3位的是「德國」（4.2%）。
