參院領袖掛保證美政府不停擺違約

美國國會參議院多數黨領袖麥康奈今天表示，美國國會將不急著上調聯邦政府舉債上限，但可望及時採取行動，避免華府走上債務違約一途。

麥康奈（Mitch McConnell）在哥倫比亞廣播公司（CBS）「面對全國」（Face the Nation）節目上說：「舉債上限問題有望在數月內搞定。」

美國財政部長路傑克（Jacob Lew）6日呼籲國會「快馬加鞭」的上調舉債上限。

美國政府的舉債授權將於15日左右到期，但可採取緊急措施持續撥款以支應開支。

超黨派的美國國會預算處（Congressional BudgetOffice）推估，這些措施可能在10或11月耗盡。

麥康奈指出：「去年11月大選過後，我就清楚的表示，我們不會讓政府停擺或債務違約。」
