國防部長楊念祖涉文章抄襲，6日召開記者會宣布辭職。總統府發言人李佳霏表示，楊念祖在召開記者會前已向馬總統與行政院長江宜樺表達辭意，總統與院長討論後，同意楊辭職。
李佳霏說，總統會與院長討論接任人選，確定後再對外公布，在此之前，國防部長由副部長高廣圻代理。
楊念祖8月1日才從從原任部長高華柱手中接下印信，接任國防部長一職。
