歧視華人　溫哥華議會擬公開道歉

加拿大溫哥華市議員雷健華提出，研究溫哥華過往歧視華人政策的動議，27日在市議會上一致通過。溫哥華市政府將指令職員研究撰寫研究報告，並諮詢華人社區的意見，最終將作公開道歉。不過有市議員指，到正式道歉，至少還需要一年時間。

雷健華指，總理哈珀及卑詩省議會已有就往歧視華人的做法正式道歉。溫哥華市政府也宣布2013年6月21日至2014年6月20日為「溫哥華和解之年」。他因此提出動議，溫哥華也應該就1886年至1947年間市議會所擬的歧視華人的法例、規定及政策作出研究。動議通過後雷健華表示，市府職員將在檔案館內找出歧視華人資料，整理後提交市議會。 雷健華表示，提出動議並不是為了年底的選舉，他之前已有想法，但不想與省政府道歉的時間相衝突。而由於省政府的道歉程序一再押後，所以直至今日才正式提出。（國際中心／綜合外電報導）
