（中央社麻州瑪莎葡萄園島14日綜合外電報導）美國密蘇里州城鎮佛格森警方槍殺一名手無寸鐵的非裔青年，引發群眾憤怒抗議，總統歐巴馬今天呼籲，讓當地恢復「和平與寧靜」，並要求當局透明公正調查此案。

歐巴馬哀悼18歲的布朗（Michael Brown），表示他的亡故「令人痛心」，但也呼籲佛格森（Ferguson）的警察與抗議群眾雙方避免暴力相向。

和家人在瑪莎葡萄園島（Martha's Vineyard）度假的歐巴馬告訴記者：「如今是療傷止痛的時候。如今是時候該讓佛格森的街頭恢復和平與寧靜了」

他也說：「如今也該進行公開透明的調查程序，讓正義得以伸張。」

歐巴馬表示，他已要求司法部長和當地的檢察官，在今後幾天向他報告調查進展。(中央社)
