台北101不只有「.tw」的網站門牌，台北市政府於2013年11月向全球網域最高管理機構ICANN申請通過，並於2015年開放使用的「.taipei」頂級網域，台北101率先響應，成功向市府申請「www.taipei101.taipei」為新的官方網站網址，並於今年2月正式啟用。

根據台北市政府提供資料，台北市「.taipei」不僅是華人地區第一個使用地理名稱為網路域名的國家，也是繼日本的「.tokyo」、「.okinawa」之後，東北亞第二個申請國家。像是倫敦、巴黎、紐約等國際城市也都是以地域為網路域名，巴黎甚至邀集LV等一線品牌一同召開行銷會議，讓國際觀光客不論在哪裡，購買名牌包時，馬上就可以聯想到巴黎，以收城市觀光行銷之效，創造雙贏。

台北101此次響應市府行動為官網掛上新門牌，期待讓更多國際遊客也能透過台北101，更加認識台北。
