鴻海長期經營專利布局，近日又有新斬獲，鴻海表示，日前出售一部分專利予Google公司，這組專利為頭戴式顯示器(Head Mounted Display，又稱HMD)相關的研發專利，因雙方對這次專利交易有簽署保密協定，交易金額及細項不對外公布。
鴻海指出，這次出售的專利包括頭戴式顯示器相關的專利內容，HMD技術包括電腦生成圖像與虛擬影像疊合，目前主要用於下列幾個領域，包括航空界戰術或地面顯示器、工程與科學設計應用、遊戲影音設備、及訓練和仿真設施。。
鴻海表示，這次交易由MiiCs & Partners協助推動，MiiCs & Partners營運核心目標為推動開放式創新與協助智權持有人進行系統性設計、開發與管理智權計畫與組合，包括打包出售、授權、收購等。
鴻海說，MiiCs成員由來自工程領域、專利申請及授權領域專家組成，對於消費電子、計算機和電信技術等科技產業具有廣博知識；目前，鴻海將部份智權的規劃及管理交由MiiCs來執行。
鴻海強調，長期耕耘專利研發及智慧財產權領域，目前已在全世界申請專利超過55000件，今年截至目前為止，申請核准數即已超過5000件，未來將持續提高研發的深度與廣度，並在智慧財產權領域努力。
