騰訊新聞「新聞哥」製作團隊接受記者訪問時表示，「新聞哥」今年六月推出後，目前已是騰訊新聞在智慧手機端的第一品牌欄目。

何姓負責人表示，「新聞哥」是一個原創趣味新聞欄目，給網友提供輕鬆、趣聞的新聞資訊和便捷的閱讀體驗。

他說，現在的網友不僅想要獲取資訊，還想能輕便（內容不冗餘），更要好玩，要多角度，還要能隨時吐槽（互動留言）；看「新聞哥」的內容，就像和「新聞哥」聊天一樣，「新聞哥」幫網友把想說的、想吐槽的表達出來。

他不願透露目前因「新聞哥」帶入的廣告金額，表示騰訊新聞在智慧手機端用戶覆蓋量已超過四億；其中，僅騰訊新聞用戶端用戶量即達到一點四億，日均ＰＶ（頁面瀏覽量）超過六億。
