美國聯邦檢調人員正在掃蕩利用簽證制度招收外國學生的假大學，近年來至少有6所學校涉案。

美聯社報導，近年來至少6所學校因為移民詐欺指控而關閉、或遭聯邦當局突擊搜索，例如位在加州普萊森頓（Pleasanton）的三谷大學（Tri-ValleyUniversity），他們曾取得移民官員批准來錄取外國學生。

但檢調人員說，多數大學只有提供一點指導，甚至完全沒有授課，不然就是沒有要求所有學生上課，利用簽證制度牟利。

政府監督機關說，最近的簽證詐欺案件，暴露美國移民暨海關執法局（Immigration and CustomsEnforcement）在監督招收外國學生的學校上出現漏洞，不過美國移民暨海關執法局表示，他們正在修正這個問題。

專家說，這些假大學也破壞美國高等教育制度的聲譽。
