倫敦人口創新高863萬人超越戰前紀錄

倫敦總人口改寫歷史新高，超越二次大戰戰前的歷史紀錄，政府並預估本世紀中葉前人口還會再增加四分之一以上。

大倫敦市政府（GLA）的官網宣布，現在居住在倫敦的人數約863萬人，高於1939年寫下的861萬人。戰爭與民眾遷出倫敦，造成總人口在1988年縮減至670萬人。

GLA預估，倫敦在2050年前總人口將持續成長至約1,100萬人。倫敦市長強森說：「倫敦的人口持續成長，我們拚命工作以提供房屋、自來水、能源、學校、交通運輸、上網以及倫敦人期待的較好的生活品質，這點倫敦人應該可以放心。」
