中國大陸總理李克強16日率團參與「中義創新論壇」，華大基因執行長李寧簡介中國在基因研究的成就。然而，「快訊雜誌」表示，對李寧在反基改的義大利推廣基改小麥感到詫異。

李克強的義大利之行收穫頗豐，雙方簽訂了價值達80億歐元的協議，並參與「亞歐會議」（ASEM）與多國元首會面，也出席了第5屆「中義創新論壇」（China-Italy Innovation Forum）。

華大基因（BGI）執行長李寧在「中義創新論壇」上表示，中國的基因研究處於世界領先地位，華大基因更在國際期刊上發表了無數論文。

華大基因和義大利的Bioscience簽訂技術轉移協議，華大將分享基因檢測技術。

然而，李寧也簡介了抗蟲、抗旱的基因改造小麥。

義大利「快訊雜誌」說，超級創新的華大基因想要「拯救世界」、「幫助人類」，但是在醫療之外，北京更想向義大利民眾介紹的是農業，想推廣基改作物。

快訊雜誌說，「或許沒人告訴李寧，義大利已經明白表示，禁止栽種基改作物，很難共享基改作物的未來。」1031018
