聖露西亞建藝術中心台灣助力

中華民國駐聖露西亞大使章計平，當地時間17日下午與露國總督路易西，共同主持露國華柯特藝術中心破土典禮。

章計平致詞表示，藝術中心計畫將重建1992年諾貝爾文學獎得主華柯特（Derek Walcott）童年舊居，同時增建小型文化劇場，整修周邊建築，規劃行人徒步區，不僅保留傳統，並能提振經濟。

章計平說，藝術中心完成後將形成新的觀光亮點，使現有的觀光動線更加延長，並為都市更新創造成功案例。

路易西（Dame Pearlette Louisy）感謝中華民國政府與人民的援助，使醞釀多年的華柯特藝術中心計畫終獲實現，此計畫不僅有助提升露國文化底蘊，也將使人民更加重視人文傳承，讓露國文化代代延續。

住宅部長菲利克斯（Stanley Felix）、內閣秘書長蒙特羅（Darrel Montrope）、國會議員佛瑞德里克（Richard Frederick）及地方人士逾200餘人出席，露國文化演藝團體並現場演出，露國國家電視網與多家媒體也派員採訪。
