網路盛傳，海軍陸戰隊與憲兵將在「永固案」中裁撤，馬英九總統7日上午參加黃埔建軍90週年紀念活動上承諾，陸戰隊、憲兵絕對不會裁撤。

中華民國中央軍事院校校友總會7日上午在中正紀念堂自由廣場舉行「慶祝黃埔建軍90週年暨對日抗戰77週年紀念活動」，現場陳展國軍現役武器裝備，並邀請15位國軍退役上將出席。

針對外傳陸戰隊與憲兵會在「永固案」中遭到裁撤，馬英九澄清指出，勇固案按照打、裝、編、訓的建軍原則，精簡是一定要精簡，但一定要維持足夠戰力；馬英九特別強調，精減原則絕對不會把海軍陸戰隊、憲兵廢掉，「調整是需要調整，但這兩個軍種一定會繼續保存」。

國民黨台北市長參選人連勝文也於上午10點抵達自由廣場，並與現場退役將領、馬英九握手致意。連勝文表示，馬英九鼓勵他要加油，「因為我們離目標還有一段距離，所以還要繼續努力、加油」。
